South Main Veterinary Hospital

Our Story

South Main Veterinary Hospital was established in January 2022. Dr. Alli Duff had been practicing as a small animal veterinarian in Amador County since graduating from vet school at UC Davis in 2015. During those 6.5 years, Dr. Alli grew to love the rural small town, tight-knit community, and limitless outdoor recreation opportunities of the foothills and the Sierra Nevada. Dr. Alli and her husband decided Amador County would be the perfect place to settle down and raise their three daughters.

Dr. Alli left her associate veterinarian position at a corporate practice in Jackson to establish a friendly, family-owned small animal general practice on Main Street in Sutter Creek. The mission of South Main Veterinary Hospital is to provide high-quality, yet affordable veterinary care to the pet dogs and cats of Sutter Creek and the surrounding communities (Amador, El Dorado, and Calaveras Counties). We aim to form deep, trusting relationships with our clients so that we can provide life-long care for their pets. Our staff team is welcoming, knowledgeable, and compassionate towards our patients and clients. Client education and communication are of utmost importance so that clients can be involved in making informed decisions regarding their pet’s care.
